The economic powerhouses of 21st century Asia, and their embrace of the explosive forces of modernization, have been the story of the world for the last half century. The Master of Arts in Asia Pacific Studies is an exciting and innovative program that explores, in depth, both the economic and social dynamism of modern Asia and its rich history and cultural continuity.

As the Pacific Century unfolds, USF's Master of Arts in Asia Pacific Studies (MAPS) is designed to serve the needs and schedules of both traditional graduate students and working professionals who seek an advanced education in East Asian cultures, economies and societies. The program provides students with an interdisciplinary, liberal arts background in the Asia Pacific region and prepares them for a broad spectrum of careers and professions in the following areas:

International Business

  • The Public Sector
  • Foreign Service
  • Education
  • International Service Organizations

Students in the MAPS program enjoy access to the many resources and opportunities provided by the USF Center for the Pacific Rim, which administers the program. Established in 1988 to develop the University's increasing involvement with Asia and the Pacific, the Center seeks to foster greater understanding of the Asia Pacific region and to strengthen communications and professional connections among the peoples and economies of the Pacific.
