The USF Center for the Pacific Rim
in the College of Arts and Sciences, bridging the Pacific through graduate and undergraduate academic degree programs, scholarly research and exchange, print and online publications, and through free public affairs and literary events focused on Asia and the entire Pacific Rim . . .

As part of the Center,

The Ricci Institute
for Chinese-Western Cultural History

explores, in the spirit of Matteo Ricci, S.J., the encounter between Chinese culture and Christian faith, especially as expressed through education, social history, and the arts and sciences.

The Japan Policy Research Institute,
founded in 1994 by Chalmers Johnson, is now part of the Center as well. The Institute website is the repository of some 300-plus papers and articles on all aspects of Japan's place in the world, its view of itself, and its past and future prospects.

The Center is also home to the headquarters of

The Nautilus Institute
for Security and Sustainability

Improving global problem solving by applying and refining the strategic tools of cooperative engagement to fundamental problems undermining global security and sustainability.

Master of Arts
in Asia Pacific Studies

is the Center's unique evening graduate program focusing on China, Japan, and Korea, and offering a time- and money-saving Concurrent MBA option. Expert instruction, small class size, financial aid... Applications are accepted year-round for Fall or Spring admission. Call to arrange to visit a class. Find out more!
